HYDERABAD: RepuFact, an online business-to-business platform launched by startup GoodHotel Network, helpshotels improve their offerings by tracking customer reviews and ratings across travel blogs and booking sites.
Driven by Natural Language Processing to keep a track of reviews in 126 languages and sentiment analysis, the platform provides hotels actionable insight.
It has clocked revenue of Rs 36 lakh in its first month and raised a commitment of Rs 8 crore towards seed fund from a Mysore-based high networth individual.
“The platform gives hotels department specific analysis, what can be done to improve the services and to encourage its guests to leave a feedback, across our suite of products. This increases direct bookings for the hotel and brings down the 15-30% commissions they share with partners such as online travel agencies,” said founder Deepak Mavinkurve, who was also a core member of the founding team at travel and holiday booking platform Travelguru, which was eventually acquired by Yatra.com.
Customer reviews have become increasingly important for the Indian hospitality industry with travel search and bookings shifting online.
A survey conducted by travel market research firm Phocuswright found that 54% of Indian travellers planned their holidays through websites while 40% booked their hol idays using smartphones.
GoodHotel Network, launched last month in Bengaluru, has also partnered with citybased RezNext, a hotel technology solution provider, to tap into a base of 2,000 hotels. The hotel technology sector has recently seen investor interest, with ibibo acquiring a minority stake in six-month old cloud-based hotels solution provider Djubo for an undisclosed amount.
